Inolex designed a novel chelating agent (caprylhydroxamic acid/CHA) that together with diols provides guaranteed broad spectrum performance. The Spectrastat range combines the optimal ratios of CHA with the leading medium-chain diols, providing the most effective alternative preservation system on the market.

  • CHA is an organic acid, chelating agent, and short chain surfactant that through several modes of action dramatically increases the hurdle effect. As a chelating agent, it targets iron (Fe²+ and Fe³+), which are the key nutrients needed by Aspergillus brasiliensis.
